I have the best job where my passion for exercise and movement became my career. In all of my fitness teaching roles, Pilates is by far my favorite for a very distinct reason. It brings together the perfect balance of strength, stamina, stretch, and stability in an exercise system that anyone can do. I train young athletes to active aging individuals.
I am currently working with a client recovering from two strokes who has residual balance issues. I have both pre and post natal moms working to improve pelvic stability and regain abdominal strength. Several clients suffer from “tech neck” and other postural problems due to the many hours spent at a desk doing computer work. My golfers love the improvement in their golf game by improving their thoracic mobility and rotational force.
The best endorsement for Pilates comes from my clients. It’s when they tell me they use what they learn in our training sessions in other parts of their lives. They apply the Pilates principle of moving from their powerhouse in the gym when lifting, at home going up and down stairs, and at their desk when they remember to sit up tall and tighten their abs.
My dream job got even better when I opened my own studio, Marvel Pilates Studio. I created a calm, distraction-free environment that allows clients to focus on the exercises in a private setting. Pilates training requires concentration, control, and precision to improve the movement patterns that lead to better posture, sports performance, and every day functional activities.
